Job Title: Director of Rehab
Location: St. Francis, KS || Willmar, MN || Williston, ND || Guymon, OK || Brewster , WA || Westport, WA Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Rehab Director to oversee rehabilitation department operations in a healthcare setting. This treating leadership role combines patient care responsibilities with department management, program development, staff supervision, and operational oversight.
Opportunities may be available in skilled nursing, hospital, outpatient, and mixed-setting environments. Disciplines considered may include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Occupational Therapy Assistant backgrounds, depending on setting requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department or clinic.
- Provide direct patient care consistent with discipline-specific scope of practice.
- Evaluate, treat, monitor, and reassess patients as appropriate
- Manage staffing schedules, productivity, and department efficiency.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate therapy staff, students, and volunteers.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members.
- Develop and implement department goals, programs, and quality initiatives.
- Manage department budgets and support operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with clinical documentation, audits, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and caregivers.
- Conduct staff meetings, in-services, and educational training programs.
- Support insurance authorization processes and reimbursement activities.
- Develop evidence-based treatment protocols and promote positive patient outcomes.
- Foster strong relationships with facility leadership, referral sources, and the healthcare community.
Qualifications: - Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program, depending on role requirements.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in applicable discipline.
- Leadership or management experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary therapy teams preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance clinical care responsibilities with operational oversight.
Preferred Experience: - Previous director, manager, or supervisory experience in rehabilitation services.
- Experience in skilled nursing, hospital, outpatient, or mixed-setting environments.
- Familiarity with quality assurance, compliance audits, and program development.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
